I voted for Star Trek. While Star Wars is a pretty epic storyline, and has more 'what if' potential, Star Trek is closer to what's actually possible. That, to me, brings the story closer to home, and gives it the edge on cool.
i couldnt decide....but i ultimately went with star trek. you know because you were making me choose between life and death andy life and death! lol.
