I got one of the best complements ever on the 4th of July. Bailey, my wife's niece, said that I was just like one of the grand kids.(meaning Holly's grand kids) Basically she was saying I was like one of the kids.
Suddenly I had flash in my mind a picture of myself wearing a green tunic and shorts with a fairy hanging around. I laughed.
I don't think I'll ever lose the youthful perspective. How that'll work with my own kids I donno... but I thought it was cool. It's sad when adults can't relate to youth. They were one once anyway! Do people turn off their brains during childhood and so when they're adults, and turn them on, they have sprung forth fully formed like Venus from the head of Zeus? OR... Do they turn off their brains and never turn them on so they only see now and themselves?
VOTE! I'm calling for a Vote on that! Leave your vote in the comments!

So, yeah. Many many adults can relate to the kids--they just think the adults are cooler. I think the main ways to get the kids to relate to you are:
1) Listen to them.
2) Hero worship.
You get the second by being super cool. Knowing you, you have both me buck-o.
I don't now that all the adults relating to children actually have a child's perspective--maybe what makes them so cool is the fact they're ADULTS and they're still paying attention to kids. . . maybe even giving them the respect due an adult?
On the other hand--the kids in nurshery think Adam's the best and that's probably because he screams like a girl when he plays with them. He plays with them a lot. So maybe some adults do keep childish things.
P.S. I voted for bear. It was the only one really powerful enough to satisfy me.
Cool! Just a side note-the Vote should be on if adults just turn of thier brain and leave it off or not.
My vote is that aa children we turn on AND off our brains as needed. That is why children can fully enjoy and appreciate everything. I also think that's why they are so happy and forgiving.
I think that most adults's brains are always on and too full of cares and worries to do the simple enjoyable things and just have fun.
"Nasty thing children are, glad I never was one" Truchbull R. Dahle's Matilda ( I know she said something like that) I even heard my boss at Ballet West say it. I had to laugh. Its a good thing to have, makes life enjoyable..that youth-full view.
To answer your question. No I did not drag my daughter across the carpet, with all the hair she is getting she developed a second case of cradle cap. The lotion that I use to remove is really sticky, like pomade and it made her hair stick straight up.
I wanted to vote but you didn't have an obnoxious little bat that does nothing but fly around in circles and tell bad jokes. That's my familiar.
Second, dressing in green and having a little fairy fly around you all the time isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Specially when the fairy is as evil as Fungles... cough.
Second, what was Venus' Roman name.. Or greek. you know, the OTHEr one. Cuz I thought Athena sprung from the head of Zeus, cept I can't recall Athena's other name. BLARGH!!!
BLARGH I SAY
LEFT TWO SECONDS. TWO!!
SOmEONE STOLE MY ABILTIY TO COUNT *off on a tangent* 3am, time for sleep
As per your vote, I think a lot of us just grow old, but we don't grow up.
Ahh, youth is wasted on the young...and fondly remembered by those who never had one...
well yes i can definately picture you as peter pan :) i was having a conversation like this with alex the other day about how we still feel so young....i feel that he keep sme young, but also ho wimportant it is to stay that way....it makes a person so much happier and its fun and silly,my favorite things.
